Three Quarters of Scouting is Outing!

Troop 16 camps year-round. Patrols develop menus prior to each camput and cook by patrol. In addition to regular weekend campouts, the Troop also has an annual Family Campout, High Adventure "Big Deal" trips, and special outings.

Every year our troop goes to Makajawan Scout Reservation during late July and early August. The Scouts have an oportunity to camp for one or two weeks. During summer camp the scouts are able to earn up to six or seven merit badges. We cook most of our meals at our campsite, however, some meals are eaten in the dining hall.

Troop 16 has been attending Makajawan Scout Reservation for more than thirty years. Parents are encouraged to attend as adult leaders and enjoy the camping experience which includes a river rafting trip and Order of the Arrow Bonfire.
